The Fishtastic Four

Connor has pets. Four of them, to be exact. He used to have one: a betta named Spiderfish. Unfortunately, Spiderfish was the kind of pet whose star shines brightly, but briefly. When all of the necessary arrangements had been completed, it was time to put another family member in Connor's tank.

Neon Tetras Reed and Sue Richards

Having the benefit of several months' experience, Dad got wise...and decided that we should start with one of those really ugly fish. You know: the algae-eater. The Hoover. A Plecostomus. There was plenty of room in the tank for more, and Dad helped Connor decide on a less temperamental breed: the neon tetra. They're small, so we bought two.

Frog Johnny Storm

That seemed a bit tame, so we decided to throw caution to the wind and buy a little frog. Connor thinks frogs are cute, and that rounded out the tank nicely. The Plecko and the frog would eat the algae and keep the bottom of the tank clean, while the neons would shine in the tank at night.

Plecostomus Ben Grimm

Next came naming day. At first, Connor wanted names like pleckodude and froggyguy. Those didn't seem to fit, so we brainstormed for some more contemporary names that might also fit Connor's current interests. So: The Fishtastic Four.
