Connor has played soccer for a couple of years, and has really enjoyed it. We thought that it was time to let him try something new, and basketball was just the thing. Connor absolutely loved playing hoops.
Mom and Dad liked basketball because it's played indoors, and we had some very cold and snowy Saturdays. Connor liked it because he got to play, got to practice with Dad, and because his coach knew how to encourage him to work hard.
Connor is still primarily defensive-minded, as in soccer. He would sometimes hang back and guard his basket rather than run downcourt to help the team on offense...but, considering the fact that he'd never really played any basketball, he did very well. Coach Todd said that Connor was the best passer on the team, hands down...so he wasn't totally focused on defense.
He's looking forward to playing again this winter. Dad loves hoops too, and so we're all looking forward to another year of learning, hard work, and a happy little teammate.
