Halloween

Monkey Boy

Connor found a really cool Monkey hat at the dollar store this year. Monkeys are his favorite animal, so we decided that a monkey was the thing to be for Halloween.

We found him a brown sweat suit a couple of sizes too big. Mom used all of her crafty-ness to create a tail. And Connor was about the cutest monkey you ever saw! Connor got to wear his Monkey Suit twice. He wore it to the church's annual Harvest Party and again for Trick-or-Treating.

The Harvest Party was a lot of fun. He won cupcakes in the cake walk, won enough candy to last all year, bounced in the Bouncy Castle, and got a spider painted on his face!

Harvest Party Ancient Roman Citizen

There was a special fall party at his Monday School as well. Each child was supposed to pick a famous character-type from history.

Connor and Mom had been studying Ancient Rome, so Connor dressed up as a Roman citizen. Amazing what you can do with a pillow-case! The students took turns telling the class about themselves and the other kids would try and guess who they were. Connor amazed several people (including Dad) with his knowledge of ancient Rome.

This year we continued our tradition of baking sugar cookies and then delivering them to Connor's special friends on Halloween night. Gram and Connor bake cookies a couple of days before, and then Mom frosts them (with some help from Connor). This year the cookies were mostly bananas to go along with the monkey costume. Connor also had a special cookie for himself shaped like a monkey head.

Cookie Delivery

We also carved a jack-o-lantern and went Trick-or Treating with Monkey Boy! Happy Halloween!
