As always, when we weren't travelling, we filled up our summer with fun activities. Baseball games, picnics at the park, Vacation Bible School, the library reading program, and swimming just to name a few.
Each year our library sponsors a reading program. Once you've read for eight hours (Connor could do that in one day if he tried!) you get a bunch of fun passes and coupons to local attractions. One of the favorite rewards is to the amusement park.
This year, Connor invited his friend Jake to come along. It was also the first year that he rode the kid-size roller coaster and actually enjoyed it. They would get off, run around, and get right back in line. Jake also came over for a swim-day late in the summer.
Aunt Karen and Fur (see Wedding Bells) were able to rescue three puppies while on their honeymoon. We went to visit them several times. Connor liked it best when they curled up quietly in his lap. Of course, with puppies that never lasted very long!
We've enjoyed having a small pool in our yard for the last couple of years. The best part is having friends over to play in it! Connor had friends over several times for swim days. Of course, the neighbor girls were here the most often! Location, location, location!
Each year we attend several Rockies baseball games. We didn't know when we attended those games early in the season that this would be such an important year for the Rockies. We watched them all the way through the World Series (on TV of course). It was an awesome year to be a baseball fan in Colorado!
