August 2002

In August, Connor had his first visit to Dad's office. He and Mom brought McDonald's (big surprise) for lunch, and we all had a nice visit in the conference room. He went to his first amusement park (a small, local indoors amusement park designed for small children). Next: Tiny Town, Colorado is a local attraction...Connor gardening with Murphyhe really liked being as big as the houses. There was also a train ride, which Connor loved. Right now he's very excited about all things relating to trains. Especially Thomas the Tank Engine. If you don't know who that is, you must not have young kids.

Connor now has a membership to the local Children's Museum. It's a very cool place. There's lots to do there, and it's all for young kids...they often have special events, too. The most recent was when Bob and Larry (from VeggieTales) showed up to promote their new movie, Jonah. It's due in theatres this fall, and something Connor's been looking forward to for months.

August was also a time for medical firsts. Connor developed pneumonia, requiring his first x-rays. He thought it was very cool that they were taking pictures of his insides. The technicians thought it was cool that Connor wasn't screaming throughout the procedure. He's fully recovered, by the way.
