July 2002

Summer was a busy time for Connor. Playgroups, music class, trips to the library, museums...it's been three months filled with fun and discovery. In June, Connor took his Connor with our flagmother and Gram to visit his Great-Grandmother in South Carolina. He had fun playing with his cousin Dakota, who is just two months older.Back home, the Supersaurus Romp was fun...it's an annual day at a local park with food, games, and fun (with a dinosaur theme).

In July, Connor took his first trip to a petting zoo. He especially liked the cows and pigs. Music class was new and fun...sort of. Most of the time, Connor wanted to cling to Mom and Dad instead of marching and hopping and singing. After several Saturday sessions, he loosened up...but not much. He's on his second round of classes, and seems to be enjoying it more. He's requesting certain songs and marching, which we consider to be good progress.

Speaking of progress, Connor got a free book from the library for completing their reading program. No, Connor can't read yet...but he set a goal and reached it. Mom helped by being available for reading every day, but Connor provided a lot of the motivation. Finally, Connor's first trip to the pool was in July. He really loved the water, but didn't like the crowd.
